UFC 185: ESPARZA VS. JEDRZEJCZYK(5 ROUND WOMEN'S STRAWWEIGHT TITLE FIGHT)
Joanna Jedrzejczyk knows Carla Esparza is a power on the
ground, yet she isn't going to decrease her methodology for Saturday's UFC 185
title fight around her adversary's qualities.
Jedrzejczyk (8-0 MMA, 2-0 UFC) is basically a striker. On
the other hand, much the same as she knows Esparza (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) can't
beat her with one weapon; she knows she can't hope to catch the UFC ladies'
strawweight title without an assorted hostile armory.
"Her wrestling is great, yet she didn't have a lot of
great striking adversaries," Jedrzejczyk told. "I can hit hard and I
can sprawl well, so I'm prepared for it. I'm a complete MMA warrior. I can do
some catching, jiu-jitsu – in this way, no doubt. That's it in a
nutshell."
While it takes a balanced skillset to succeed in the current
MMA atmosphere, Esparza inclines intensely on her wrestling to win battles.
She's got robust remain up, however Esparza's race to UFC gold comprised for
the most part of her battling on the ground.
Poland's Jedrzejczyk doesn't have the wrestling family of
her adversary, yet that doesn't generally make a difference, she said. Battles
come down to which side can best execute a given system. Jedrzejczyk doesn't
think Esparza will have the capacity to attain to hers.
"Everybody is discussing her great wrestling – I
couldn't care less," Jedrzejczyk said. "Will be better. I'm an
intense contender and I'm not going to surrender."
UFC 185 happens Saturday at American Airlines Center in
Dallas. The primary card show on pay-every perspective after prelims on FX and
UFC Fight Pass.
Esparza won the UFC's inaugural 115-pound title when she
beat Rose Namajunas at The Ultimate Fighter 20 Finale in December. Only after
one day, Jedrzejczyk upset Claudia Gadelha in a No. 1 contender’s session at
UFC on FOX 13 to cement her risk at the sash.
Regardless of her undefeated record, Jedrzejczyk is pegged
as the wagering underdog as she enters her first UFC title battle. The
27-year-old grasps that position and said her past underdog triumphs give
confidence she can take care of business once more.
"I'm generally the underdog," Jedrzejczyk said.
"Indeed in the battle with Claudia. In any case I'm cheerful to be here
and I don't feel much weight. Everything in is your head and how hard you
function for it."
In foresight of the hugest battle of her vocation,
Jedrzejczyk headed out to the U.S. approximately two weeks prior to the
occasion to put the completing touches on preparing camp and adapt.
Jedrzejczyk as of late traveled to Los Angeles to take an
interest in the UFC's "Welcome to the Show" news meeting. A number of
the UFC's champions, including Jon Jones, Chris Weidman, Demetrious Johnson and
T.J. Dillashaw, were in participation, as was Esparza.
At the finish of the public interview, every set of
adversaries went head to head. Jedrzejczyk had no issue getting in Esparza's
face and telling her she accepts there will soon be another champion.
Jedrzejczyk said she wasn't attempting to discourtesy her adversary; yet rather
make her mindful that another champion may be en route.
"It was a joy for me to be there with all the champions
and with Dana (White)," Jedrzejczyk said. "Before long will be a
champion, so it will be ordinary and you're going to see me come what may.
"I have heaps of admiration for her. I'm continually
investigating their eyes so I recognize what I can anticipate. It will be
great. I know she's not going to surrender simple, so it will be an extreme
battle for me and for her."
Jedrzejczyk's battle games profession started with years of
muay Thai matches. It's been under three years since her MMA debut, however,
and as of now she's trying for a world title at the most abnormal amount. That
is an uncommon open door for somebody still so green in the game, and that is
only one motivation behind why Jedrzejczyk arrangements to capitalize on it.
"Will be glad (when I win the sash)," Jedrzejczyk
said. "Will be upbeat more inside than outside. I'm working so hard for
it. Being a contender is an exceptionally troublesome occupation. Consistently
before I go to rest I'm contemplating it. I petition God for it. I can see it."
